Derek W. Benson
Director of Business
Development
Mr. Benson joined Catalyst Renewables Corp in
December 2003. He has more than 11 years of
energy and engineering experience covering a
broad range of activities including
development of renewable power projects,
environmental assessments and remediation,
and engineering design. Mr. Benson has
previously served as Manager of Renewable
Energy Development at Reliant Energy where
he was responsible for the development of six
landfill gas to energy projects, evaluation of
new renewable development opportunities,
and evaluation of renewable energy markets.
Prior to that, Mr. Benson worked for Royal
Dutch/Shell in the Strategic Innovation
Program focusing on new business
opportunities and sustainable development.
Mr. Benson has also worked as a project
manager for Conestoga, Rovers, and
Associates where his responsibilities included
developing and implementing environmental
remediation plans for large industrial and
energy clients. Mr. Benson received a B.S. in
Civil Engineering for the Louisiana State
University in 1995 and an M.B.A. from the
University of Texas at Austin in 2001. |
